Juba National University, commonly referred to as the University of Juba, is a university named after Juba, Sudan. In late 2006, the Government of Southern Sudan's Ministry of Education agreed to change its name to Juba National University. It serves students from the ten southern states of Southern Sudan and Sudan in general. It is currently undergoing renovation as it is being transferred from a Khartoum campus to Juba City in Central Equatoria state.
Juba University was founded in response to the need for facilities of higher education in Southern Sudan.
Juba University is divided into eleven (11) colleges: the College of Medicine, the College of Engineering, the College of Applied Sciences, the College of Natural Resources, the College of Social and Economic Studies, the College of Arts and Humanitarian Studies, the College of Music and Arts, the College of Law, the College of Rural Development, the School of Management and the College of Education.
